The use of conflict-related sexual violence in Myanmar has been widely documented over several decades of conflict, and it remains a long-standing and deeply entrenched crisis. 

 

This June 19, the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict, the Dr. Denis Mukwege Foundation presents “In their own words”: Survivors’ perspectives on Conflict-Related Sexual Violence in Myanmar and across borders.” This report compiles the findings from survivor consultations with 118 survivors, providing powerful insights into what survivors themselves identify as the existing gaps in care and what is necessary for healing and justice
