Reporting to: Compliance and Programme Controller

This is an excellent opportunity for English- and French-speaking candidates with experience in financial administration to work for an international human rights organisation with an HQ office in the Hague and country offices in Central African Republic and (in the near future) Burundi. As a small but growing organisation, we are looking for a flexible candidate who can implement our day-to-day financial administration and support the team with project budgets, donor reports, and organisational audits.
The applicant we are looking for will have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience, is accurate, has a hands-on approach, and strong inter-cultural communications skills. This person is a real team player, has a sincere interest in the topic of human and women’s rights and is keen to work in the non-profit sector.
The Dr. Denis Mukwege Foundation is an international human rights organization, dedicated to ending rape as a weapon of war globally. The Dr. Denis Mukwege Foundation supports survivors’ demands for a world where sexual violence as a weapon of war is no longer tolerated, and bears consequences for individual perpetrators and states. We work for a future where survivors receive the holistic care & compensation they need to rebuild their lives. We create opportunities for survivors to speak out and be heard, and where they can organise to create change, influence policies, and demand justice and accountability.
We are working towards a future where sexual violence in conflict is no longer seen as inevitable, but is recognised for what it is: a crime that should have consequences. We want the international community to draw a line against wartime sexual violence and to hold states and individuals accountable. See also www.mukwegefoundation.org.
For this role we envisage an all-round financial person with at least 3-5 years of experience in a comparable international (preferably NGO) setting, who is driven, passionate and highly accurate. The Financial Administrator is responsible for the smooth running of the organisation’s financial administration through day-to-day implementation of financial processes. This includes processing and paying invoices and expense declarations, booking income and expenditure in Elvy and Exact online, supporting financial reports and audits, and facilitating all external financial matters. Furthermore, the Financial Administrator assists the Compliance and Programme Controller with preparing donor reports and developing project budgets for grant applications.
